“10 Ships (Don’t Die Yet!)” (Ernest Jenning), a part-studio, part-live collection released in November, would have been the best sort of epitaph: a bright, woozy document of a group at full throttle, playing lackadaisical country-rock rambles that become exuberant, sense-clobbering shout-alongs, some (“Crazy but Not Afraid,” “Blood Red Field”) with brutish saxophone. Turns out, though, that there are, at present, no plans for the band to implode. “River may come,” everyone screams on “River May Come,” the hardest-knocking song on this collection: “Please don’t take me away/It’s here on the Earth I want to stay.”
