Caspian Announce US Tour w/ Red Sparowes * Reissue Back Catalogue

Announce US Tour w/ Red Sparowes * Reissue You Are The Conductor and The Four Trees out March 16th on The Mylene Sheath!

Nothing less than an exemplary and genuinly revelatory excercise in emotionally devastating post-rock. 8/10 - ROCKSOUND

Caspian, a Massachusetts post-rock crew, knows that "epic" doesn't have to mean an album of five 16+ minute songs, and the crew have the melodies to prove it. - BROOKLYN VEGAN

This batch of songs is anchored by brilliant, restless songwriting. No boring twenty-minute crescendos here. Tertia is full of surprises... There's scarcely a better post-rock record on the horizon. 9/10 - PREFIXMAG

Tertia is just as effective when it sparkles as when it storms. Caspian has the instrumental firepower to make a big noise when it feels like it. But the melodies, timbres and harmonics are so fully realized that "Tertia" would be mighty, even without its climaxes. - THE WASHINGTON POST

A dense work of post-rock with purpose. - RHAPSODY

On the heels of CASPIAN's latest, critically praised opus, Tertia, both the band and their label (The Mylene Sheath) have announced they will be reissuing the band's earliest cult worshiped releases. Both CASPIAN's You Are The Conductor EP and the much talked about Four Trees full length will be given proper reissues on March 16th, just in time for the band's upcoming trip to SXSW, and as a precursor to their Midwest and West Coast tour w/ the mighty Red Sparowes.

You can read more about each release, including the band's complete touring schedule (which spans from early March to late May) below:

You Are The Conductor:
This is the deluxe reissue of the now out-of-print debut EP by Beverly, MA instrumental powerhouse CASPIAN. Originally released in 2005, the album captures a band with as much energy and urgency as you'd expect to find on a debut release. But it also displays a band that has a confidence and understanding of craftsmanship that defies their young age as a band. Roaring out of the gate with the first three songs, what has now become known simply as "The Trilogy", a staple of the bands live set, "Quovis," "Further Up," and "Further In" flow seamlessly in and out of one another, leaving the listener short of breath and knee-deep in their instrumental catharsis. While "Loft," "For Protection," and "Last Rites" slow down the albums pace and journey through each other, closing out the album in truly epic form. A bona fide classic and an unparalleled debut within the instrumental rock underground, "You Are The Conductor" did more than whet the underground's appetite for the bands debut full length, it established Caspian as an immediate force to be reckoned with. And after five years of relentless touring, having played over 400 shows, including five full US natinal tours criss-crossing the country and two separate gargantuan jaunts throughout continental Europe, CASPIAN has proven to be a force that is unstoppable. These are the six songs that birthed CASPIAN.

The Four Trees:
This is the deluxe reissue of the critically acclaimed debut full-length by Beverly, MA's CASPIAN. The album was originally released in April of 2007 and was the highly anticipated follow up to 2005's debut EP "You Are The Conductor." With expectations for "The Four Trees" at an nearly unrealistic level after setting the bar so high with the EP, most bands would have cringed at the daunting task of this follow-up. But not only did CASPIAN meet the expectations, they completely blew them out of the water by creating an album that will easily go down as a landmark release in modern day instrumental music. From the triumphant opening track "Moksha," to the aggressive, adrenaline-fueled stompers "Crawlspace" and "Brombie," to the complete and utter finality of apocalyptic closer "...Reprise," the album is not only a journey through both conceptual and sonic layers, but it is the sound of a band that is coming of age and realizing their creative genius. A band that has the life-changing sound that all bands strive to acquire. "The Four Trees" placed CASPIAN firmly atop the heap of instrumental bands springing out of nowhere in 2007 and solidified their spot as the leader of the pack. Now after five years of relentless touring, playing over 400 shows, including five full US tours criss-crossing the country and two separate gargantuan jaunts throughout continental Europe, Caspian has proven to be the front runners of the new wave of instrumental music. "The Four Trees" was the precursor to their newest album "Tertia," and will forever stand as more than just a sign of things to come - but as a masterpiece of a debut full length recording.
