Cheeky Melvins/Karp/Murder City Devils/White Shit/etc-associated sludge-rock heroes Big Business are celebrating the late 2010 addition of fourth member, guitarist Scott Martin of Crom/400 Blows, and upcoming tour with aesthetic allies Torche by following 2009′s Mind The Drift with the Quadruple Single 12″ EP on their very own, recently launched new label Gold Metal. As the EP’s title suggests, it’s four songs, each strong enough to be its own single. Get a taste via mighty opener “Always Never Know When To Quit.”

Q&A: Nader Sadek On Wearing Deicide T-Shirts In Cairo And Humanity's Oil-Fueled Pursuit Of Its Own Destruction
Egypt-born visual artist Nader Sadek has been bringing the worlds of avant-garde art and extreme metal together for several years. His 2007 installation Faceless arose out of his experiences living as a metalhead in Cairo, and combined oddly Edward Gorey-ish drawings of a niqab-clad woman standing in landscapes not unlike the ones you might see on metal album covers or fantasy novels. The soundtrack to the piece had members of Morbid Angel, Emperor, Obituary and Testament performing an experimental piece that mixed death metal and Middle Eastern music alongside Middle Eastern musicians like Omar Faruk Tekbilek and Raquy Danziger. Sadek has also designed costumes and sets for the likes of Mayhem and Attila Csihar.
This week Sadek releases his first full-length album, In the Flesh (Season of Mist).

Premiere: Quintron + Miss Pussycat, "Face Down in the Gutter"

* Here's a brand spanking new Quintron video for the track "Face Down in the Gutter", which gives Miss Pussycat's puppets a whole creepy world of their own (a world that is apparently called Busters), with Quintron hanging out behind the bar in a tux and a handlebar mustache like it ain't no thing. Things get hairy as the puppet folk down more of the legal poison, but Q holds his own and Miss P. drops by for a cameo. The track comes off their new album Sucre Du Sauvage, which came out April 12 on Goner Records. Brooklynites rejoice: Quintron and Miss Pussycat will be playing 285 Kent on May 28. - Impose

Title Tracks "All Tricks"
In Blank contains 10 original songs from John, as well as a cover of the Flamin' Groovies song, "I Can't Hide." The mood on the new record is 32 minutes of nearly unflagging kinetic push from start to finish and is mixed in glorious mono. Starting with "Shaking Hands" ("a tongue-in-cheek glorification of a solipsistic apocalypse," John says) and ending with "Winners Cry" (about "tattered friendships and the pursuit of oblivion"), the record only slows down very slightly at the halfway mark for "Forget The Ghost," a spectral song cloaked in a wash of Doric organ, an insistent tandem of acoustic guitar and kick drum and a bass line that walks the song like the titular phantoms. "It's about feeling like you've maybe exorcised the worst parts of yourself," John explains, "as told through a few ghost stories I've been a part of and/or heard at points in my life."
