MOON & MOON
Reflections of timeless struggle, self-fulfilling prophecy and age-old triumph, with flashes of modern affectation. A fluid and evolving seven-act performance/musical theater piece, an epic tale of angst, hunger, tragedy, failure, and ultimately, hope.
Moon and Moon is built around the core structure of Will, Jay, Lou, Joe, Stephen and Jordan, and the band's debut album out in March 2008 features guest appearances by Devendra Banhart, Gibby Haynes, Eve Miller (Lewis & Clarke, Rachel's), Stephonik Youth and Natasha Khan (Bat For Lashes)

THE BLACK SWANS
The Black Swans make music steeped in folk, country, and blues, avoiding genre and categorization, albeit the ones known as "good" or "real-deal". The band's new album Change! is the aptly titled new album to be released by La Société Expéditionnaire, November 6th, 2007. A dozen slow burning songs dealing with the reconciliation and reconstruction of the spirit and self. As in the past, The Black Swans feature the broken broodings of songwriter/singer/guitarist Jerry DeCicca, and the classical, Appalachian swoop of Noel Sayre’s violin. The artwork was provided by members Arc, a community developmental art workshop. To fund the finishing touches, DeCicca supplemented his Abe Lincoln balloon-animal children's party gig (aka Doctor Silverfoot) and took a job for 3 months as an afternoon DJ at a strip club.

LEWIS & CLARKE
(solo set)
Just off a US tour w/ Brighton sensation Bat For Lashes, Lewis & Clarke is a slow-burning ember that has been gently blowing minds for some time now. It is the nom de plur of Lou Rogai and current collaborators Eve Miller and Russell Higbee (also of contemporary groups Rachel's and Man Man, respectively). The moniker has been described as metaphor for journey on many levels, including musical, spiritual, and physical. The name is also a reference to the fellowship and correspondence between C.S. Lewis and Arthur C. Clarke. Rogai is credited as a composer/musician/songwriter as well as founder of La Société Expéditionnaire, an artist-based cooperative record label dedicated to exposing the wild and/or fragile music of colleagues. Rogai also regularly collaborates with Strand of Oaks and Moon & Moon.

STRAND OF OAKS
A Hoosier transplanted to the coal highlands of Northeast Pennsylvania, Timothy Showalter has nested in fertile musical soil. Taking cues from luminaries such as Nebraska-Era Bruce Springsteen and a burgeoning Neil Young, Showalter extends a musical gesture and searches to find modesty in the midst of confusion, addressing insecurities and settling existential debt with a simple and beautiful delivery. The personification of a midwestern Grandfather's advice, his songs smack with hard truth and poignant severity, and are at times raw and uncomfortable.
