A short, fast, loud approach to songwriting, politically pointed lyrics, and an abrasive delivery, Detournement's debut release, Screaming Response, is a furious and scalding critique of a collapsing economic system, a battle-cry to define and organize the struggle, and a hardcore-punk record that sound as if the genre was being discovered for the first time.
Set for release on May 5th, Detournement has made their debut EP (packaged in a unique printed and casewrapped sandpaper jacket, and available in yellow, gray, and gray and black vinyl) available for pre-order through Chunksaah.com and PiratesPressRecords.com starting today. The band has also posted two new tracks from the record, "Odessa" and "No Están Solos" streaming on their Myspace page.
